His students include many of today\u2019s professional players and teachers throughout Europe and the USA.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"1592\">In 1991, Costas began teaching Guitar and Harmony courses at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens, Greece. He later taught Ear Training, Jazz Composition, Ensemble, and Improvisation courses, and in 1995 he became <strong>Head Director<\/strong> of the Modern and Jazz Music Department at Nakas. In this role, he organized a great number of festivals, contests, workshops, seminars, lectures, guest musicians\u2019 concerts, and teachers\u2019 and students\u2019 concerts. At Nakas, he also supervised the <strong>Berklee College of Music<\/strong> Study Abroad Program, the student exchange program between the two institutions, and the four-semester academic program that allowed students to complete their first two years of Berklee College credits in Athens. Additionally, he delivered lectures and seminars at conservatories in all major cities of Greece.<\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\">In 1996 and 1997, Baltazanis was invited by Berklee College of Music to teach and perform concerts at the Guitar Department of their Boston base. In 1998, he took part\u2014along with Berklee professors\u2014in the Blagoevgrad Jazz Festival (Bulgaria), conducting performances and overseeing seminars and scholarships. In 1999, the same team of professors performed and delivered seminars in Cyprus. Later that year, Costas traveled to Helsinki as a member of the Berklee College Scholarship Committee and delivered lectures at the <strong>Helsinki Pop and Jazz Conservatory<\/strong>. In 2000, a similar program took place in Barcelona, Spain, where Baltazanis taught at <strong>L\u2019Aula del Liceu<\/strong>. In 2002, Costas served as a guest teacher at the <strong>Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary<\/strong> Music in Tel Aviv, Israel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/costabaltazanis.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/dsc_89851.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-272\" title=\"balt 18\" src=\"http:\/\/costabaltazanis.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/01\/dsc_89851.jpg?w=150\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"99\" srcset=\"https:\/\/costasbaltazanis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/dsc_89851.jpg 800w, https:\/\/costasbaltazanis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/dsc_89851-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/costasbaltazanis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/dsc_89851-768x510.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Costas has lectured on a broad range of topics, including: <em data-start=\"2432\" data-end=\"2452\">Jazz Improvisation<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2454\" data-end=\"2476\">Superimposed Harmony<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2478\" data-end=\"2501\">Triadic Improvisation<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2503\" data-end=\"2524\">Modal Improvisation<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2526\" data-end=\"2541\">Teaching Jazz<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2543\" data-end=\"2589\">Psychology in Music Performance and Practice<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"2595\" data-end=\"2679\">Odd Meters in Greek and Balkan Folk Music and Their Application in Fusion and Jazz<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2682\" data-end=\"2909\">Costas Baltazanis has written three books\u2014<em data-start=\"2724\" data-end=\"2755\">Music Theory and Ear Training<\/em>, <em data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"2771\">Jazz Harmony<\/em>, and <em data-start=\"2777\" data-end=\"2794\">Electric Guitar<\/em>\u2014published by Philippos Nakas Editions.
